Pre-launch notice:StockScanners is currently in proof-of-concept access and does not accept payments. The operator's full legal name and physical address must be added to this policy before public commercial launch.
1. Scope and who is responsible
This policy applies to StockScanners.app, its public pages, account registration and sign-in pages, and the authenticated research dashboard (together, the "Service"). The operator of StockScanners.app ("StockScanners," "we," "us," or "our") is responsible for the personal information described here. The Service is operated from Israel.
This policy does not govern third-party websites that you choose to open from the Service, such as an authentication provider or an external charting website.
2. A short summary
- We use Clerk to register users, authenticate accounts, and protect sessions.
- We store the account, access, saved-screen, and interested-stock data needed to provide the dashboard.
- Google Analytics remains off unless you select "Accept all" in the cookie banner.
- We do not sell personal information or use it for third-party behavioral advertising.
- Paid checkout is not active, and StockScanners does not currently collect payment-card or billing-address information from users.
3. Information we collect
Account and authentication information
Clerk processes the information needed for registration, sign-in, account security, and session management. Depending on the sign-in method you select, this may include your name, email address, profile image, authentication-provider identifier, login activity, device and browser information, IP address, and security signals. If you use Google or another supported sign-in provider, that provider processes the sign-in according to its own privacy terms.
In the StockScanners database, we store your Clerk user identifier, primary email address, name when available, application role, account status, registration time, last-login time, and record-update timestamps. We do not receive or store your password from Clerk or an OAuth provider.
Dashboard preferences and interested stocks
When you use account-specific research features, we store the information needed to restore them. This includes saved-screen names and settings, selected filters, price and recovery ranges, display mode, sorting, scanner-date offset, and the stocks you add to your interested list. Interested-stock records may include the ticker, exchange, scan date, volume ratio, and related market-price values displayed when you save the stock. These records are associated with your StockScanners account.
Access, subscription, and administration records
During proof-of-concept access, we maintain records such as your free-POC subscription status, dashboard entitlements, access start or end dates, account role, and administrative changes. We may also keep audit records showing the acting administrator, affected account, type of action, relevant metadata, and time of the action. These records support access control, security, troubleshooting, and accountability; they are not payment records.
Technical and security information
When you access the Service, our application, hosting, authentication, and security systems may generate technical records such as IP address, request time, requested page or endpoint, browser or device type, operating system, referring page, response status, diagnostic details, and security events. We use this information to deliver the Service, investigate failures, prevent abuse, and protect accounts and systems.
Optional Google Analytics information
If you select "Accept all," Google Analytics 4 may collect a pseudonymous browser identifier, pages viewed, session and interaction information, general device and browser details, referring information, and approximate location derived from the connection. We use these aggregate reports to understand and improve the Service. We do not intentionally send your name, email address, Clerk identifier, saved screens, or interested-stock list to Google Analytics. Google Signals, advertising personalization, and remarketing are disabled in our current Analytics configuration.
Analytics is not loaded while your cookie choice is undecided or after you select "Necessary only." See our Cookie Policy to review or change your choice.
Communications you send us
If you email us, we receive your email address and the contents and metadata of your message, including any attachments you choose to send. Please do not send passwords, authentication codes, payment-card details, or information that is not needed to handle your request.
4. Where the information comes from
We obtain personal information:
- Directly from you when you register, save settings, or contact us.
- From Clerk and the sign-in provider you choose when they authenticate your account.
- Automatically from your browser, device, and our technical systems when you use the Service.
- From authorized StockScanners administrators when they manage access or account status.
5. Why we use personal information
We use the information described above to:
- Create, authenticate, secure, and administer accounts.
- Provide the dashboard and restore account-specific research settings.
- Manage proof-of-concept access, roles, and entitlements.
- Respond to support, privacy, and accessibility requests.
- Monitor reliability, troubleshoot errors, and improve the Service.
- Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
- Enforce our terms and comply with applicable legal obligations.
Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, we rely on the need to provide the Service you request, our legitimate interests in operating and securing the Service, compliance with legal obligations, or your consent. Google Analytics is based on your consent, which you may withdraw for future collection at any time.
6. When we disclose information
We disclose relevant information only as needed to:
- Clerk, which provides user management, authentication, sessions, and account-security services.
- Google Analytics, only after Analytics consent, to measure aggregate use of the Service.
- AWS and other infrastructure providers, which may provide application hosting, networking, storage, database, logging, backups, and security services.
- Email and support providers, when needed to receive and respond to communications you send us.
- Professional advisers, courts, regulators, or authorities, when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights or safety, investigate misuse, or establish or defend legal claims.
- A buyer, investor, lender, or professional adviser involved in a proposed merger, financing, reorganization, or sale, subject to appropriate confidentiality and legal safeguards.
We do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Market-data providers supply background market information to StockScanners; ordinary dashboard requests do not send them your account profile, saved screens, or interested-stock list.
7. Cookies and browser storage
Clerk uses cookies required for sign-in and session security. StockScanners stores your cookie choice in a first-party cookie and uses browser local storage to remember your selected display theme. Optional Google Analytics cookies are used only after consent. Our Cookie Policy identifies the current cookies, purposes, typical durations, and available controls.
8. International processing
StockScanners is operated from Israel. Providers such as Clerk, Google, AWS, and email-service providers may process information in the United States, the European Economic Area, Israel, or other countries where they or their subprocessors operate. Privacy laws in those countries may differ from those in your location. Where required, we use contractual, organizational, and technical measures intended to protect international transfers.
9. How long we retain information
We keep account and access information while your account is active and afterward for the period reasonably needed to close the account, maintain security, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. Saved screens and interested-stock records are generally kept until you remove them, close your account, or they are no longer needed to provide the feature. Security, diagnostic, support, and audit records are retained for periods appropriate to their purpose. Backup copies may remain until they rotate out through normal backup schedules.
Google Analytics information is retained according to the retention controls configured for the Analytics property. Cookie and browser-storage durations are described in the Cookie Policy. We may retain limited records longer where required by law or reasonably needed to address fraud, abuse, security, or legal claims.
10. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. These include authentication, role-based access controls, restricted administrative functions, encrypted transport in production, database constraints, audit records, and separation between user-facing requests and background market-data jobs. No website, database, or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
11. Your choices and privacy rights
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to ask whether we hold personal information about you, receive a copy, correct inaccurate information, request deletion, restrict or object to certain processing, withdraw consent, or receive portable information you provided. You may also have the right to complain to a privacy regulator.
You can change Analytics consent through "Cookie settings" in the website footer. To make another privacy request, email us using the contact information below. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request. A right may be limited where retention or processing is required for security, legal compliance, dispute resolution, or another lawful reason.
12. Children
The Service is intended for adults and is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information to the Service, contact us so we can review and address it.
13. Third-party services and links
Third-party services have their own privacy practices. Clerk explains its handling of customer data and service information in the Clerk Privacy Policy. Google describes Analytics privacy and data controls in its Analytics privacy documentation. AWS describes its own processing in the AWS Privacy Notice.
If you follow a link from StockScanners to TradingView or another external website, that site may receive information normally sent during web navigation, such as your IP address, browser details, and the page or URL requested. Its policy—not this one—governs its processing.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the Service, providers, or legal requirements change. We will update the date shown above and provide additional notice when required. Continued use does not replace any consent that applicable law requires us to obtain.
15. Contact
Privacy questions and requests can be sent to [email protected] or through our Contact & Support page. The operator's full legal name and physical address will be added before public commercial launch.
Your use of the Service is also subject to our Terms of Use.
